RFA questions

Hi, I'm starting at Warsash in september with the RFA, trying to get all my paperwork sorted but it's not clear what bits the RFA pay for. I know I pay for my accomodation but does anyone know if I can claim back my fees for my medical and my discharge book application? thanks

I'm not sure about the RFA, but I know most companies will reimburse you.

ENG1 can definitely be claimed back. I usually get the doc to invoice them, but otherwise the cadet training officer will process your expenses on that one. No idea about DB, it's far too many years since I got my first one.

They certainly have in the past, it just depends on how many junior officers they need at the time. I've no idea if they are recruiting qualified officers at the moment. The last one I have a note of was in July of last year.

They will reimburse the cost of your medical and vaccinations however as the discharge book is your own personal property you must pay for that yourself (current cost ?40).

At present the RFA are not recruiting any qualified Deck or Engineering officers and have no plans to do so for the immediate future. They are however recruiting cadets.
