According to my timetable for Warsash (for the 2011 deck HND intake), you don't do the bulk of your STCW short courses until after the second sea phase, except efficient deck hand and BSTW (?) which is done just before Christmas in time for the first sea phase.

'Freshers week' apparantly has a maths test though.

BSTW is your basic safety courses - i.e.; PSSR, PST, BFF, BFA

well im goin fleetwood i just presumed i do the basic training stuff in the first week

Just wondering beside doing the STCW95 basic training course in the first week what else do we do.
