Hi there. I was wondering if anyone knew if shipping companies would accept a adult numeracy level 2, instead of a GCSE grade C in maths? As i didn't achieve a grade C in GCSE maths, i am currently working towards an Adult Numeracy Level 2, which is equivalent to a GCSE C in maths. Just wondering if this would be acceptable? Any advice would be gratefully received.

Best thing to do instead of getting in touch with companies is get in touch with the colleges, they will be able to tell you if the adult numeracy allows you to take the course. Especially when a lot of the time "equivalent too" doesn't actually mean its sufficient enough! -
Yes, try an e-mail to Warsash, Fleetwood, South Tyneside and Glasgow colleges, hopefully one of them will do the research and reply as to whether your eligible to sit the HND course. If not, don't worry as they might have advice on other options.Comment
