  • OOW Unlimited CoC

This might be a bit of a stupid question, but what is the OOW Unlimited CoC, and at what point during your cadetship so you receive it?
    Thanks

It is the ultimate objective. You receive it after successfully completing all examinations and sea time, and jumping through any other hoops required.

CoC = Certificate of Competency, AKA "ticket".

The 'Unlimited' bit is to distinguish it from lesser OOW qualifications, e.g. OOW <500gt Near Coastal.

Here's a link to what the MCA say about COCs: http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg...type=RESOURCES

Does anyone know of the requirement of and feasibility of converting an OOW <500gt coastal to a OOW unlimited ?
As a cadetship has proven to be elusive to me this year, then I am trying to "think outside the box" .

I'm supposing you have a II/3 OOW cert and you want to convert that to a II/1?

I'm not sure on this one myself. Never heard anything about it. For deck, MGN 92 is a good starting point tho.

I would speak with Dave at www.oceantraining.org.uk they do lots of work with people converting limited tickets into unlimited ones (fishermen AB's etc) they will be able to point you in the right direction.
