  • Your advice needed!!!

After long last SSTG have got back to me, and have asked me if I wanted to go away with Navalmar. Now I have tried to research the company however it is quite hard to find out much about them in detail. So I was wondering if anyone on this forum work with navalmar or have any connections with them??? and could share any advice if possible.

So I was wanting to ask your advice concerning -foreign crew?
    promotion ?
    age of ships?
    new tonnage?

    Thank's in advance

Here, allow me to google that for you: -

Foreign Crew - Considering they also have offices in India and China I think I'd go out on a limb here and say that they probably have Indian, Chinese and possibly Filipino crew. Is that a problem?
Promotion - You're a cadet and will remain a cadet with them. Promotion is not something you need think about for at least three years.
Age of Ships - Newest is 1996 and the oldest is 1981 with the rest dottered in between. If you think thats a bad thing then it isn't. Best place for a cadet is on an older vessel where it is not quite as automated and you actually have to learn to do things manually.

    Wasn't that difficult?
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.....

Navalmar get mentioned a fair bit in this thread... it doesn't make great reading but is 5 years old:

      Doesn't sound as dreadful here:

I'd be surprised if the crews weren't predominantly Indian, but that's an assumption. Seriously I just put Navalmar into Google, lol.

Guess you beat me Guinessman, never ceases to suprise me how much "research" some people do!!!

Hi Tommo, I'm a phase one deck cadet with Navalmar. To the best of my knowledge GM has hit the nail on the head really. Oh and I've spoken to a deck cadet who has completed her first sea phase with Navalmar and she didn't have a bad word to say about the experience
