Hmmm, well I didn't receive the first letter, but I did receive the second stating I had been given a conditional offer. The usual way things work out if you are a successful candidate with CMT is you receive a handbook with the various sponsoring companies and are asked to select the three you wish to be sponsored by (this was explained during the interview, however I also know from reading around here that that is the usual protocol). I know some around these parts have already received that letter, but the vast majority of CMT's "successful" candidates appear to be on conditional offers.

I'm not sure I'd hold my breath about January either, I presume you would have to re-interview as I should imagine they begin with a fresh slate, however if you do not get an offer I see no harm in contacting them and being asked to be put forward for the January intake... it's certainly what I had been intending to do.

As far as I understand CMT are still interviewing, had I interviewed a week before I may have received a solid offer, but I think I was one of the first to interview with the Southampton office after tuition fees threw a spanner into the works. Part of my frustration is that I'd have probably had an offer by now had I applied a year ago, but at the time I didn't even know how to go about applying. But as I said I'm hoping for the best, prepairing for the worst. Call me a sceptic, but there seems to be a lot of people on conditional offers, suggesting CMT are working with the numbers from last year and those numbers, as evidenced by Maersk basically rejecting every interviewee after a certain date this year, will likely be somewhat leaner for the September intake.

As for college, I'm hoping for Warsash, but honestly I'm trying not to get my hopes up about it at the moment because, for me personally, I can't see the tuition being fully sponsored with CMT and I have nowhere near what I was told I may need, a not so great credit rating, a part time job because there is nothing in the area I live in and a maxed out Student loan.

I'm in the same position. The letter explained that decisions were still being made with regards to funding and positions available, subsequently a conditional offer is just that... conditional. If there isn't sufficient funding some offerees will miss out. Due to the fact I already have an undergraduate degree I'm prepairing for the worst as I can not fund myself privately, at least not to the tune of four grand per college term.

I phoned the other day and basically had the letter reiterated, I then asked if there was a chance conditional offerees may miss out, and she admitted there was a chance but CMT are doing their utmost to avoid this. Of course, if there aren't positions available due to the funding shakeup, there aren't positions to offer.

I admit the wait is a killer, I've heard decision date estimates from late March to late April. Frankly, they're probably waiting on the colleges releasing their tuition fees (which will be in April) and will then liase with their companies, so I imagine late April will be closer to the mark. Not much you can do but wait until they get in touch.

    Clyde marine conditional offer, HELP!!!!

hi all, I had a conditional offer sent through around a month ago saying I had a conditional offer , but it also explained how the funding was still under review with an outcome expected soon. Does this mean I have a place on the course in September or what, I am begining to get really worried now and the wait is killing me, any help is appreciated , cheers.
Working...
