BP experiences?

Just wondering if anyone has had any experiences with BP good or bad? Doesn't seem to be many cadets that are with BP and Shell..I guess they take on a lot less compared to other companies.

I have a telephone interview with them next week so if anyone has any opinions about their training or BP as a sponsoring company then please share

As far as I am aware they have an excellent on board cadet training program.

Just don't expect shore leave.

Good training program I hear.

However my only experiences with BP has been with their Vetting department, and as vetting groups go, are not as bad as some....

Yeh I've just sent my preferred dates and times but they were mainly next week. Should hopefully hear back from them tomorrow? Or perhaps this weekend, think I've recieved emails from them before on a weekend.

Yeah the first date/time you can select is 0730 tomorrow (9th) i was hoping for an email back by now but im just being inpatient and now ive managed to lock myself out of my gmail and lost the charger for my phone so no access to email at the moment.

Ive also got a phone interview with them! I was also wondering if theyre a good company to do your training with or not. Dosent seem to be much BP cadets on this forum. Good luck to both of you with the phone interview

I think it's because both BP and Shell take on a small number of cadets each year so there's not much info compared to Maersk for example..who recruit a large number for both September and January intakes. Good luck to you too!

They're still doing phone interviews? I got an email at the beginning of this week saying I was successful and that they're holding face to face interviews in mid April.

As for what to expect, the normal questions why you want to go to sea..why engineering or deck? Stuff about their company and their vessels. Things you should know really in preparation for any interview, but it was more formal than all the other one's I've had.

And I think I know what you mean Drewber...tbh I don't really understand why they ring from Singapore but nevermind!
