I received my offer from Maersk on Friday and they said at the interview it was being reviewed. It has turned out Maersk are going to pay for the fees being with drawn but that is only Maersk it is each companies choice what happens, but tbh companies will most probably pay for the fees that are being revoked. Thats my view anyway.

I wish I knew what the score was now, to put be out of my misery!
I need to start in September. I can't wait another year. I've been trying since 2008 to get a career at sea.
Hope for the best; expect the worst.
I hope you get your Maersk offer anyway bud!

I've had the same and was tantalized at my Maersk interview that they were fully sponsoring cadets (I don't feel I nailed my interview, sadly).
The problem with Clyde is they obviously represent a large number of companies that they have to secure decisions from each regarding their position with regards to fee payment or places available. I can forsee a situation where their companies are all providing different scales of funding and I can also forsee others withdrawing their cadet programs altogether. Unfortunately I can see Clyde requiring some kind of payment OR a significant reduction in places meaning the likes of me and you on conditional offers don't have a great chance. I'm at a disadvantage having already secured undergraduate funding and completed my degree, also I have only been able to find part time work since returning to the UK from Canada in 2010 meaning I have but a few grand to my name, and Maersk mentioned costs of Four thousand per college phase (1,3,5 at 12k total). If that turns out to be the case and I don't get in with Maersk it'll be back to the drawing board for 2012 and apply again next year for me hopefully finding better work when I move up country next month.
Of course, I like to set my expectations low so I'm always prepaired for the worst, it could turn out far better!

Cadet Funding
I know that funding has been secured up to 2015; but can anyone tell me what the finer details are? Particularly pertaining to Clyde Marine's modus operandi, for running cadetships.
I've had a letter off CMT saying that they're awaiting an outcome still, before conditional offers are being made.
What exactly are they waiting for?
