SSTG cadetship news!

It has been three months since my interview with sstg/ Steve Abrahart so I decided to call them today about any news concerning sept intakes. I was told that sstg are getting in touch with the colleges, and applicants will be contacted in the next few weeks concerning entry requirements etc....

I have a conditional with sstg for deck tommo! Entry requirments, surely we all know its still 140 ucas!

I thought it was 120 UCAS points, well thats what it is to get into Warsash.

Hi andy, I think the colleges will differ in terms of entry requirements however I do know that the minimum requirement for Warsash is 120 ucas points. Also what was the conditional that SSTG offered you Mike?

its 120 UCAS points for me :') but he was so impressed with my GCSEs he's not even bothered me about A levels haha

as I said I am still waiting to hear back from sstg after the interview I had with him 3 months ago. However seeing as steve has got back to you so early, I think it might just pay me to phone him later on this week. Your advice would be very much appreciated. Also did steve offer you a conditional??

He hasn't said much about a conditional but i expect that it goes without saying since he put me on the foundation degree which requires 120 ucas points minimum, also dont worry, he has alot of people to go through and i think theres only 4 people who actually work at the precinct office so it will probably take some time. which company have you actually applied to, as some companies may take more time to get back to SSTG. I wasnt required a second interview for TUI (whew!) so a company which requires more work to do when it comes to choosing its cadets may take longer to get back to you. But i would e-mail him if i were you to show a certain keenness try not to get annoying though!

yeah thanks for the advice it is very much appreciated, the companies I chose were;1. CMA CGM 2.EVERGREEN and my 3rd choice was paccship. I am also looking for the foundation degree route/deck-(which means stuying!!!) However I will contact SSTG at the end of this week, and keep you updated. Finally are you a school leaver and what college do you want to go to??? If you don't mind me asking.

yeah I'm at sixth form at the moment, I've been given placement at fleetwood nautical campus (which was my only choice really!) and yeah, those companies are likely to require a second interview so i expect there will be alot more paperwork to be sorted out
