Yeah! It's called searching through the forum!
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.....

What GM is TRYING to say, in his own very idiosyncratic manner, is that he doesn't have any personal knowledge on this particular subject and suggests using the search function (located in the top right hand of the screen) to find out if anyone has asked about this before.

Hopefully though, one of our Maersk cadets will be along soon and will be kind enough to give you some pointers. Most interviews go along the lines of "Why do you want to do this? What have you done in the past that shows you are suited to it? What do you know about our company?" So do your research and make sure you have an answer for everything! Best of luck

No I do not report things from here to them as they are quite able to come and read this stuff for themselves.

            Hi Stevo,

I'm a Phase one Maersk cadet at Warsash, my interview involved a presentation on the company, a Maths test then an interview lasting about half an hour to 45 minutes. I was asked what I thought would make me a good merchant navy officer, what research I had done on the company and to name some situations I'd been in that showed leadership and commitment. I'd talk to some serving mariners too. They'll probably ask you what you think life is going to be like at sea. Best of luck

I'd be very careful about talking to some serving Mariners. You don't want your perceptions of the industry to be clouded by any bile that *some* (not all) come out with....

pffffft...I was tiered, Chinese Coast-itus......not going to get better over the next 48 hours either, Chiwan then Yantian,, which ironically you can drive (overland) from one to the other in about an hour but takes 8 hours to sail round.....
