  • Foundation degree route when you already have a degree?

Hi everyone, I've recently been offered sponsorship for September (yay) but the company have said that they need to check with the colleges if there's any issues as I already have a degree and they said that they would enroll me for the foundation degree route.

So I was wondering does already having an honours degree prevent you from doing the foundation degree route? If by chance it does are you still fine to do the HND?

If it makes a difference my degree is in a completely unrelated subject.

    Thanks

It won't affect you, at least half of us on my phase (including myself) all had honours degrees when we started the cadet ship on the foundation degree route.

Having your degree basically puts you way over the "UCAS points" requirement on its own. If you don't have mathematics at A-level / Higher (and therefore didn't do a science degree), they possibly are checking if the college will accept you.

      Thanks Alistair.

Maybe that's it, I never did do any maths or science at A level. They mentioned something about funding but weren't that clear really. Have to see what they say when they get back to me. It was said it's probably nothing but I am just wondering what it's all about.
