  • WMA Trivia. Munch time Shopping Advice Please.

HND Deck. Now on countdown for Sept 05.
Apart from the list provided by WMA, should I bother to bring personal goodies ie. Large Marmite etc. or is there a local "fairly priced" Mini Mart within walking distance?

    Thanks.

There's a Co-operative Food about 10 minutes walk away from campus, and a One Stop with Post Office. There's a Tesco too which is 10-15 minutes' drive.

Thanks for the encouraging news C.D. Walk off the flab while on the Munch!
I read that the weekend tucker @ WMA may leave much to be desired also with the first "Break The Fast Meal" Breakfast starting as a Brunch @ 11.00! If so, I wonder whom thought that one up..?

Yeah that's right, brunch on the weekends which is basically the exact same as the breakfast offering plus some random other things.

How does the card system work?

Could I not buy breakfast and get lunch instead?

I'm not sure exactly how they're working it because it wasn;t in place last year - we just had cards that we showed them. Going by how fast (read: slow) some of the till people were I imagine it would have been quite painful having to get everything inputted and the cards swiped.

I know at the open day in July I bought lunch in the canteen and it was like a normal till system. Will find out when I get there, not long now!

If you are on a 5 day meal card you will be allocated in the region of ?40 per week to spend (more if you are on the 7 day meal card). You can spend this allowance as you wish, but it's primarily designed to cover breakfast and dinner. You can however mix and match to meet your schedule, and always have the option of adding extra money to your card if you want to. Alternatively as others have said, you can just pay in cash instead of topping up.

Each main meal costs ?3.75 (correct as of August), and extras are in place for drinks, cakes, fruit etc.

Although there is a Co-Op and One Stop within walking distance, the prices there are not the cheapest around. If you plan on eating more then I would recommend bringing the extras down with you to save yourself a little bit of money.

                Enjoy your college phase.
