Sea time

During phase 2 you're allocated a set amount of time for your sea phase, how much of this will actually be spent on ship with one of the cruise companies such as carnival/princess?

Deck or engine?

Deck generally 4-5 months out of the 8.

Deck is that generally done in one large time away or broken into smaller times away?

Depends really, I did one 4.5 month trip, others are doing two 2-2.5 month trips. All depends on availablity.

Do you get paid the whole eight months or just while your on ship?

You'll get paid monthly as a cadet while at college, at sea or on leave (all the time basically), though when you qualify the arrangements may be different.
