Just take one in your suitcase, I hear that a sea farers ticket allows for excess baggage! LMAO

On the plus side, if you go to cruise ships there's pianos all over the place. The production manager will often have one or two hidden away (there were at least two grands and one upright which were mostly unused and in secluded locations on my last ship) and sometimes there'll be one in the restaurant if you're willing to stay up late!
On that note, if you do happen to be on cruise ships, be nice to every department. Having connections really helps! The dancers usually throw the best parties, the F&B people can get you nice coffee for the bridge, the front-of-house people can sort you out with lots of things and your cabin steward is your lifesaver!

As a fellow chord basher, this would have been a great idea when I started.
But it doesn't just start with the piano. If you want it to remain serviceable then you'll have to keep it tuned and getting a piano tuner isn't cheap lol

Thanks Penfold, a good idea..
Never know, there could be another chord basher who would like to have a weekend tinkle on the old Ivories.

While some like to get 3 sheets to the wind during weekend 'No prob', if poss' my relaxation is on the Ivories, been playing since knee high, alternatively Sailing & Diving (Advanced Diver Cert'). I guess there''s no room in the accom's for a small electronic keyboard? previously when away I use headphones which are not at all intrusive; ah well, mebbee I'll dig out my guitar for a quiet strum!
One of your posters (no names) sent me a private "p" take message saying there were "Gimballed Steinway's" on the Gangways LOL.
My Bro's in the Infantry (PWRR) and they have one in their Mess,,no big deal.

Piano/Keyboard Access
Hi, I'm a 17 yr old Male and hoping to be at WMA this September as a Deck Officer Cadet.
At home in between studying I like to play the Piano/Keyboard and have also played at functions.
Can anyone please advise if there is a Piano available for Students use.
Thanks.Tags: None
