  • Comparing accomodations

I really like the sound of Warsash but after reading about the living quarters I am not so sure, I know the lecturers etc are meant to be the most important thing but where you live is also important eh.

What is your place like~? and can you pay extra for a single room?

    TIA

You can pay for a single room but in general the preference is too share.

Nowt wrong with the living quarters you only really sleep there anyways.

Don't be a prude, you might well be sharing a cabin on ship anyway! Warsash does seem to have the edge on the other colleges, and the accomodation is of a high standard.

I did my cadetship at South Shields and my Chief Mates at Warsash. The facilities and standard of teaching are Warsash are far superior. I think its only the first phase that you have to live on campus anyway?

Wannabe- you might not even have choice about where you go to college anyway. I don't think I've heard a single cadet say that their college accommodation is nice, they all have various points of badness. From what I've heard Warsash isn't that bad, although you do have to share, but get used to it cos you'll probably have to share on ship as a cadet too.

Good point, do you ever have to share with the opposite sex on ship?

                  Dashed your hopes has she?

Get used to sharing and being in close proximity with other people, because if you get tankers then you will most likely spend 3 to 5 months stuck with the same 25 people with little opportunity to go ashore (tanker berths are normally in the midst of no-where).

Although I was lucky at sea. I never had to share a cabin....
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.....

                    Re: Comparing accomodations

When you become an officer on the cruise ships, you often get to share a cabin with someone of the opposite sex, and can vary your cabin mate fairly regularly if your good.
