  • Cars at Warsash..

Starting at Warsash this coming Septemeber and I just wondered if it's worth taking my car with me?
No idea what the parking's like or if I'll even need to use it other than for coming home?
    Any info would be helpful,

    Liam.

I brought my car for my first phase. Just remember to get a parking permit. Onsite parking is ok, as long as you dont leave during the day. If you do, fat chance of getting a space to park in again until after 5 o clock.

Most of the cars currently parked at Warsash don't have permits......

Is a permit like ludicrously expensive?

Nope. They are free...if you can get one.

A permit is a rare and exotic beast so apply early. They are in demand due to all the cars that want to park there.

If not, what's the surrounding area like? Is there any quiet roads to leave it nearby? Or would you not want to leave your car in the area around the college?

                Re: Cars at Warsash..

The local council have just put single yellows down in all the surrounding roads. The permit system is still having the terms and conditions determined and should be in force at some point (so I am told).
There are some local roads to put your car in that's a few mins walk from the college, if you look for them. It's not a high crime area, I wouldn't worry about leaving your car.
If you live on site, best advice is to put your car in a space and don't move it unless it's outside college hours

                  Thanks Randomist, sounds good.

Now all I have to do is sell some organs/limbs/family members to pay my insurance again, good times.

Did my Chief Mates at Warsash and found the whole permit system ludicrous, and parked up anyway since I was paying for the course and expected to be able to park. But found I had to arrive pretty early most days to be able to get a parking spot or end up parking miles away..........
