        Ha ha, same.
Get into Gatwick at 8AM. Means I will need to be at Edinburgh for around half five

Should be worth it, I am impressed with SSTG so far.

hi i applied to sstg on the 7th jan and clyde, carnival and viking on the 14th jan- still no reply from any other than from them all saying they've received my application for deck cadet. does this mean i have been unsuccessful or that they have large numbers to get through?

              Re: I have applied!

Well, my interview is at 2 so as long as I get the train around half 12 from London I will be fine. It is only 50 mins from Victoria.

Just getting the Gatwick express into the city.

                Re: I have applied!

I drove to my SSTG interview from Rutland.....and my sat nav sent me through the center of London, at rush hour. Hell on earth

The SSTG building is really easy to find once your in Rochester, just make sure your in the Old Rochester not New Rochester which is over the river!

I would'nt worry about not hearing back yet, there are masses of applications that go to each of these companies and its just a case of sitting and waiting!

I applied to one company in November 2010 and only just heard back from them the other week.

Just keep applying to everything that interests you and you will get somewhere

There and back in one piece!

Flew onto Gatwick about eight was on the city for half nine.

Met Steve about half twelve as I was early. Top guy he was, seen me early which allowed me to get an earlier flight home.

Interview went well and I highly recommend that people should apply to SSTG.

Not long after the interview I received an email from Steve Abrahart offering me a place with SSTG.

                      Re: I have applied!

On another note anyone who requires information on travel to the SSTG office do PM me.

I flew EasyJet and I can't fault them, again. I was booked on the 1915 flight out of Gatwick to Edinburgh but as stated above got out early. So I was transferred to an earlier flight, the 1730 flight free of charge. 10/10 on customer service yet again for EasyJet.

As for the train, i booked my tickets online with thetrainline.com and collected them at my local rail station before I flew down South. Again, magic. 10/10. Got on the Gatwick Express into London Victoria and then the train to Rochester from London Victoria.

Once in Rochester it is a quick walk along the High Street, past the Cathedral, and the office can't be missed.

                        Re: I have applied!

Today I received an email from Southern Crewing Services with regards to an interview and a sea trial.

I accepted excitedly and should be heading down to Lowescroft soon enough.

Have you done your sea trial yet?

maybe, but usually there's a high volume of applicants during this time. I know for a fact sstg are full for deck, try engineering or eto with sstg as they have few places left on them. but hope for the best.
