What are the college hours?

How is time spent in college divided? For example, are the hours pretty standard like 9 till 3 monday to friday or are the hours more random such as monday 9 till 1, tuesday 11 till 3 etc etc, with more emphasis on a combination of college time and private study time?

I'm going to South Tyneside if this helps.

When I was there it was uniformly 9-5 Mon-Fri, although POETS day was usually observed to some degree on a Friday.

I had heared 9-5 also which suits me as i currently do 9-6 =]

For starting phase 1 in STC you will be 9-5 everyday for the first month or two, then after that you will start completing lessons of your first term and not need to attend. Most days you have an hour, or maybe 90minutes dinner break. If you get an unlucky time table though it can be as late as 1800 finish

im in phase one now and im getting alot of free time as my class have finished some subjects for this term. before all this happened though we had maybe 1 free lecture a day. but we are lucky and our timetable means we finish at 12.15 on a friday

I think it varies with college. For me Phase 1 was really quiet. In a few days until 5 and the rest only until 3.

As mentioned, as time passed i got more and more free time.

Deckies/Navvies seem to have regular days off...
Engineers only seem get days off if there's some H&S jive in the workshop... or a hefty bout of snow; or if lecturers are user-friendly.
Most of the lecturers will bore seven shades of shangalang out of you as they (for some peculiar reason) seem to feel the need to wring every dreg of tedium out of every second of every lecture.
On average, it seems to be about 6 hours a day more or less... it varies a bit from week to week.
