Clyde 1st month accommodation pay

Hi all,

I am a bit confused about the way the 1st months accommodation pay is handled. In my joining instructions from Clyde it states that I get paid in arrears regarding accommodation costs (about 10 days after the official start date). However, I have to pay a months rent when I start at college (about ?440). Does this arrears pay include the next months payment and the 10 days I have paid for out of my pocket payment? Or just the next months payment?

The problem is, at the moment I have a serious cash flow shortage and to get ?440 before I start is proving to be a major problem/drawback :S I have looked at various grants and residential support schemes but none seem appropriate for various reasons.

Which college are you going to?

A lot of companies seem to do this, it's an arse, have you tried going to your bank and begging for an overdraft, student or otherwise? Some banks are nice and, if you explain the situation, will help out. Might be worth calling the college and asking them to send out a letter confirming that you are due to start college that you can show the bank manager too.

STC iis 440 per month paid on the day of arrival My comany paid my first 5 weeks but not sure if CMT do or not.

I am going to South Tyneside, been looking for a bit of part time work to tide me over but with the economy how it is it is proving difficult! The bank may be the only other option, it would be so much easier if you could pay your rent when the sponsorship money came through :S

Yep, get used to this sort of thing, in my experience it is virtually unheard of for colleges and companies to organise themselves so that things fit together nicely!!
