Hello, all! I've been accepted to go to Warsash in Sept. 2010 with CMT. Was just wondering, if anyone else is in the same position as me, how far they'd progressed with their application. It's April and I've had my medical and returned the paperwork for a Discharge Book, Seaman's I.D. card and a U.S. Visa. Clyde hasn't contacted my references yet though and, as yet, no joining instructions for Warsash or letter about getting a uniform. It's still early in the year. Does this sound like enough progress 5 months before I'm supposed to be joining?

Yes I am in the same position as you however Clyde have got in contact with my referencesHowever as of yet I haven't heard anything about what company is sponsoring me. Oh I'm going to GCNS...I read somewhere that in the summer Clyde/College contact you about joining instructions etc. But I know what you mean, it's just a long waiting game....

Never mind..I just read about the Somali pirates..
April 6th, 2010 - 17:30 hrs. Update 34
The Asian Glory sailed to east (about 580 miles) on the weekend and back to off Garacad. The purpose of her sailing unknown. Despite Zodiac's efforts to find a speedy resolution, the pirates refuse to be reasonable. Nevertheless, the company continues to be available daily for dialogue and is strongly committed to securing the release of the crew as soon as possible.
March 30th, 2010 - 12:00 hrs. Update 38
The St James Park is anchored off the Somali coast. Despite Zodiac's efforts to find a speedy resolution, the pirates refuse to be reasonable. Nevertheless, the company continues to be available daily for dialogue and is strongly committed to securing the release of the crew as soon as possible."Did I tell you about my theory about sailors? They also operated MSC Napoli.
They have 107 UK flagged ships, and so I'd guess have to employ about that many British cadets, but AFAIK they employ no British officers.
Having them as a sponsor doesn't mean you won't get your ticket in the end, but it will make it more of an achievement!
