    Watersports Taster Session

    By Old Man Bear

Hello everyone! Yes, this is the first of hopefully many articles, by us, the Merchant Navy Bears! We're still dealing with some account issues at the moment, but Mr. GM here was nice enough to create this one for us for now.

So, where and when did we start? Well, it was this morning actually, over in Warsash. There I was, all snug in my bunk when the boss flips the light on.

"Right, time to get going" he says,

"What? Where? Why now?" says I,

"Pfft, come on, I sodding told you! We're going for a taster session with the Watersports Folks, and can you wake the sodding Chief up whilst you're about it!" He replies.

So I hopped out my bunk, kicked the Chief awake and away we went we to the Watersports centre. We had a quick look around and we're quite impressed with the sheer amount of....well.....stuff that the folks there had. They had speed boats, wee yachts, everything a man, or bear, could possibly want and we got to spend the day with them!

After having our wander round, we had a difficult decision we had to make. Do we go keel boating or power boating? The Chief being the Chief wanted to get straight on to the power boat, you should have heard him! "Phwoar! Look at the engines on that!". Luckily, being the senior one around here, and not one that is attracted to bright, shiny or powerful things, I grabbed him by the collar and dragged him away to the keel boat. We had to do some proper sailing...

So we pottered around for a wee bit. Everyone got a chance to have a go at sailing and of course I was on hand to supervise and guide the cadets along.

No one knows where the Chief went as the cadets were sailing around. I reckon he went racing down below. You know what these engineering types are like, just can't handle the natural light! Well, eventually he must have got a bit bored down there so he popped back up on deck for Smoko's as we were slowly making our way back to the Quay side.

Once we got back to the quay, it was straight over to the Powerboats for a quick wee splash about. You should have seen the Chief Engineer, loved it he did. Gleeful he was! It's got to be the smell of fuel, I mean, what else could it possibly be?

Anywho, that's us for now. We've both got our next voyages all set up, so watch this space and see where we go next!

    Till then!
