    Question Adult material

Ive heard from several people in various positions and of differing ages that its not exactly a secret that ships that are full of males have some adult material going around...

Yet my company say it is forbidden to have it on the ship... Not being daft but i would like to take some for such a long trip - what do you reckon? and whats your experiences?

Do most people keep it on HDDs?

    Thanks in advance.

Just take an external HDD - keep it legal for the UK and be aware that some places have very strange laws about it (the UAE for example) so think twice about flying into places like that with anything dodgy, it is normally fine though, I have heard about 'random' checks, but it is very rare I would say.
Also think about taking some normal movies with you, if you are going to a box boat or something with minimal social life it can get quite boring!

As safety precautions you should rename files to unsuspecting names, try and password protect folders/files or even resort to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPpo3tsx3e4 , that may only an IT buff will detect you if an unlikely search did happen

In my experience it was either the Chief Mate or senior motorman that had it....

In the dark days before DVDs there always used to be a stash of grotty magazines in a drawer in the cadets' cabin.

thanks for the advice, good idea regarding hiding the file, i will do so on a HDD.

Ive not got anything 'dodgy' just your usual American Vivid Pictures style stuff.

Guess its best to carry HDD in hand luggage?

An AB once offered to put some "movies" on my hard drive. I wish he hadn't, it was some truly disturbed stuff.

Be aware that if you happen to be flying through some countries to join - you might find yourself in a prison awaiting death

That was part of the point of this thread...is it worth the risk and what countries?
