It's not in Newcastle, it's in South Shields, which is the administrative seat of the area called South Tyneside

From what I can gather- South Tyneside is a 'merger' and always has been (for a good while)- or a split between two faculties- between South Tyneside College (Bog-standard run of the mill College y'know) and South Shields Marine School (The nautical-college/training speciality of it).
That's of my understanding.
