This is a unique once in a lifetime opportunity that offers a combined study and work program where you can complete your Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering OR Nautical Science from Australian Maritime College, University of Tasmania and get work experience to complete your prescribed sea time. All study, accommodation, meal and travel arrangements are paid for by CSL Australia.
This offer is a fixed term employment offer for 4 years covering the duration of your study program and sea time hours
Cadets will be required to spend 8-10 weeks at a time onboard a vessel around their university timetable
18 months sea time is required to graduate from a Cadetship
Criteria for Application:
You must be either currently enrolled, or eligible to enroll in Bachelor of Marine Engineering OR Bachelor of Nautical Science at Australian Maritime College, University of Tasmania
Eligibility to obtain a Maritime Safety Identification Card
You should be capable of performing the functional duties of a Engine/Deck Officer
A passion for working at sea, and ability to work at sea for extended periods (8-10 weeks)
Excellent Team work skills
Strong communication skills - understanding and following instructions
Good planning and organisational skills
Self-motivated, mature and responsible attitude
